How Can We Help?

An interview with Fred Pais

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Fred Pais and I enjoy what I do. I am a professional commercial photographer and videographer. For aerials I am a FAA certified and licensed commercial drone pilot.

When did your photography interest begin?

My photography interest began as a boy exploring my Dad’s camera hobbies and dark room.  Growing up I had the chance to use various film cameras and even prototype Poloroid land cameras and special film.

When did you become seriously involved?

My real landmark period came during the Vietnam War where I had the opportunity to shoot the moment. Today, I combine my flying passion as a past Private Pilot, with my past technical service businesses and related abilities as an entrepreneur several times over. I incorporate both aerial and ground photography and videography with technique and technology.

What separates Drone 360 Photography in what you do?

Drone 360 Photography uses various equipment to provide a custom solution for any required need. Today it is more than just ‘snap a picture’.

We want and need to tell a story and show off the results! This is where the challenges come in and the ability to edit the outcome, while creating a great final production.

“We blend technique with technology” to make the client, and their project, look great!

How would you describe your photographic style?

First I am a listener, paying attention to the client’s preferences. The plan is to make their style my style for the project shoot. Secondly, I like to use the latest technique while bringing new technology into the project.

How important is Photoshop or digital editing to your process?

Digital editing is where all the WOW comes in. I usually equate my formula of using the “30-30-40 rule” approach where the final results depend on 30% of the equipment used, 30% on the technique used, and 40% of the digital editing technique used.

What do you enjoy most about photographing real estate, architecture and the built environment?

I love challenges! My background thru various companies I have started and owned previously have given me the help to see the whole picture and all the moving parts needed to work effectively within the industry.

Continued education is an ongoing and expensive, but necessary, requirement to keep ahead.

I have worked in, and have been a pioneer in, several service industries. Some past accomplishments have included the electrical construction industry, professional instructor, and Real Estate agent (currently inactive)!

I enjoy the face-to-face personal aspect as well as the feeling of accomplishment in the final results.

What has been the most memorable photo shoot you’ve ever done?

Perhaps one would be a large 7500 square foot home hitting the market. The challenge was to understand the expectations of the client.

What advice would you give to someone in Lunenburg or central Massachusetts who was selling their home?

Get a professional to handle the project. Consider a stager or virtual staging if the home is vacant or the existing furniture doesn’t meet the “look” that prospects would expect conducive to the age and character of the home.

What do you like to do away from work?

I like to travel, and interact and work with animals.

Testimonials for Drone 360 Photography:

“Thank you so much for sending all of this material. I have had a moment to climb out of my emails and briefly look at the footage, and it looks great. Very crisp with shots that I think will really work well for our purposes.”
